Rapper Snoop Dogg testified for nearly two hours in an LA court room for the civil trial stemming from a 2006 incident at a summer concert that left him battered and bruised.
Richard Monroe Jr. sued Snoop for 22 million dollars, claiming that the rapper hit him in the face with a microphone/brass knuckles combination.
The man claims that he thought there was a call for audience members to join the rapper and his entourage on stage, and when he did he was givin a beating, and woke up back stage naked in a pool of his own blood.
Snoop claims that when the incident happened, he retreated back stage to avoid being caught in the middle and that it was just his security team doing what they are hired to do to protect him. He claims, “The best way for the injuries not to have occurred (was) for him to stay in his seat and enjoy the show like the rest of the fans,”
It’ll be up to a 12 person jury over wether or not he receives any money, the trial will continue throughout the week.
