Finally someone is speaking out about the John McCain ad that featured Paris Hilton and Britney Spears rather than sending generic quotes out through their reps. Kathy Hilton, mother of Paris has recently voiced her opinion regarding McCains usage of Paris while comparing his opponent to “one of the biggest celebs in the world.”
Kathy spoke with The Huffington Post, a political publication, regarding the situation and said;
“It is a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign. It is a complete waste of the country’s tme and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States.”
I see her point, considering the candidates are spending nearly $140,000 dollars per day to air their ad’s nation wide on television, but that could be said about any ad. Why does it cost $140,000 dollars per day to air ads in the first place?
I don’t think it has much to do with millions of people losing their homes or jobs, or would have saved millions of homes or jobs if the ad was never ran, but Mrs. Hilton is a donor, and she has a right to defend her donation.
Hopefully, this ad doesn’t cause the Hilton’s or anyone else to switch their vote, for McCain’s sake.
