Saturday Night Live is thriving off of this years election. The show has seen a huge rise in viewership ever since the new season kicked off right in crunch time of the 2008 Presidential election.
It’s mostly been Tina Fey‘s version of Sarah Palin that the people are interested in, but Fred Armesian’s Barack Obama impersonation isn’t too bad either.
Last night they had their first Thursday night election special, where Armesian and Daryl Hammond spoofed the second debate between John McCain and Barack Obama. The joke here was how debate host Tom Brokaw kept cutting the Senators off in order to keep things rolling with the time.
Comedian and former SNL cast member Bill Murray made an appearance as a debate audience member, asking both candidates what they would do in order to ensure that the Chicago Cubs win the World Series next year.
