Natalie Portman was asked to play the role of an emotionally conflicted nun in the John Patrick Shanley film, Doubt, but she had to pass due to some emotionally conflicted reasons of her own.
At a press conference for the film, Shanley, told reporters that they asked Portman to play the role, and she was really interested , but kept saying she had a problem.
They finally got to the root of the problem, to find out it was that Portman “didn’t understand celibacy.”
I’m not sure if this caused her to just not be able to focus on the role, or maybe she just hates nuns because she loves sex so much? Either way, Portman was replaced by Amy Adams for the film.
It’s always something strange with this one.
