NBC announced today that they won’t be releasing Jay Leno into the wild to compete with Conan O’brien when he takes over The Tonight Show in June 2009.
Instead they will be giving Leno his own nightly variety show in the 10:00 time slot that will be preceded by O’brien’s Tonight Show.
They then released an apology for Rosie Live, and said they should have just left it to the professionals to begin with. At least they should have done that.
This move will also save the network money as it is much cheaper to produce a prime time variety show than a network drama.
