Chris Brown was named the 2008 artist of the year by Billboard this week, marking the second time he’s grabbed the title, first doing it in 2006.
In an interview with the AP on Thursday, Brown said, “It’s bigger than what I can ever imagine. It’s unexpected totally, so it’s a surprise.”
The artist of the year is decided by a combination of album sales, digital downloads, and radio play. Number 2 on the list was Lil Wayine, and coming in at three was Chris Browns main squeeze, Rihanna.
