Jodie Sweetin’s divorce is getting rather u-g-l-y! Her soon to be ex, Cody Herpin filed for an emergency custody hearing in an OC court today, over who gets to take care of their 8-month-old baby, Zoie.
Cody accused Jodie of being an unfit mother and putting their child in danger. He says the former Full House star, who is a recovering drug and alcohol user, has fallen off the wagon and has even once driven a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol with their child in the car.
The judge agreed with Cody and has sentenced her to supervised custody of her daughter. Jodie will only be allowed to be around Zoie when either of her parents, with whom she is living with, are present.
Britney Spears went through similar stipulations in her custody battle over her sons with K-fed during her meltdown. Like Britney, I expect Jodie to make a full on comeback in the next two years with a new show all about grown up Stephanie Tanner, even if it means none of the other cast mates. Just her and Mr. Bear, alone in the big world of San Francisco.
A doctor in the court room confirmed that Jodie had been hittin’ the bottle again, but that she has since been contacting her sponsor, and regularly attending AA meetings.
The judge ordered both Jodie and Cody to submit drug tests before the next hearing.
