Dear President-elect Obama, welcome to getting criticized for every decision you make for the next four years.
The gay’s are upset at Mr. Obama’s latest decision in choosing Rick Warren, a pastor from California to give the inaugural invocation when he is sworn in as President on January 20th.
Warren is the senior pastor of Saddleback Church in Southern California and was a lead backer in the amendment to ban same sex marriage in California.
Joe Solomonese, president of Human Rights Campaign, wrote in a letter to Obama,
“Your invitation to Reverend Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at your inauguration is a genuine blow to LGBT Americans. We feel a deep level of disrespect when one of architects and promoters of an anti-gay agenda is given the prominence and the pulpit of your historic nomination.”
Obama, who opposes same sex marriage, but also opposed the California proposition to ban it, is said to be reaching out to some conservatives in order to help gain some popularity amongst those voters who voted for John McCain in November, but seems to be losing some fans along the way as well.
