Patrick Swayze was absent from a television panel this morning because he had checked himself into a hospital for observation after aquiring pneumonia.
A&E president Abbe Raven made the announcement; “Patrick Swayze has checked himself into the hospital. However, he asked us specifically to go forward with today’s panel. We wish him the very best with his recovery.”
Swayze has been battling with pancreatic cancer, and since going public with his battle in March of 08, he has been determined to fight on and look towards a long and healthy life.
In a recent television interview, Swayze said giving himself 5 years to live would be a long shot, but he was comfortable with thinking 2. He also said he’s hopeful he lives until they find a cure, and will make helping the cause a top priority.
Dear Patrick,
You are extremely brave and I know that you will successfully fight this battle – for some time to come. And I admire your strength and courage.
It mirrors my own Father’s courage with the diagnosis of a primary brain tumor (A glioblastoma) – which I heard most aggressive form of cancer. He had 90% of the tumor removed-it’s considered extremely aggressive, but Dr. Henry Friedman at Duke University called me himself on my cell phone (impressing me) and my Dad is the 75th man on a study that I feel is helping him at the moment.
My heart goes out to you and Lisa and your loved ones and friends. I hope that you and Lisa will pray for my Dad, Elbert Harley – he’d meet you and greet you like an old friend, he’s the type of man who would help you (or he used to could help with any project) around your house, expect nothing in return. He has helped so many people, he’s smart and hard working. He has bee hives, harvests honey, built a house at age 70 almost with zero help from others, he grows orchards of the most delicious fruits and gardens of a variety of veggies. I wish you two could meet, even for a day. The courage and bravery sends chills down my spine. I am a proud daughter.
Hope that everything will continue to improve and that people will be amazed at how you pull this off! That’s hope there and no one should ever lose any hope! Patrick is an inspiration and my Dad is someone that the world should be blessed with for a long time, he contributes much to community and teaches his own children (including myself) important life lessons each and every day.
I LOVE YOU Pa!!
🙂
Love
