Good news for Lipstick Jungle fans! Though your beloved series was abruptly pulled off the air this season with no resolution to all of the conflicts happening within the show, there’s still hope that it may return to TV under other circumstances.
Much like NBC did with the cult followed Friday Night Lights, splitting the costs with Direct TV and letting them air an entire season on one of their networks before recently beginnign to air it in the now vacant Lipstick Jungle time slot, NBC chairman Ben Silverman is hopeful that this show could see the same fate.
Silverman said in a statement today,
“Lipstick Jungle is so strong and has such a passionate base among a coveted demographic. That kind of show will have the same approach, and we’ve already begun that approach, as we’ve used with Friday Night Lights. We have some incredible channels in our portfolio and we have sister networks that love the show as well. We are analyzing what we need to do to keep that show on the air.”
It sounds lousy, but would be totally worth it! Let’s hope someone out there is interested in forking over some cash so that the show can go on!
