Looks like Mickey Rourke’s “Randy the Ram” won’t be wrestlin’ with Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania after all.
Though Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke joked about heading to Huston for Wrestlemania 25 this April and called out WWE superstar Chris Jericho during the red carpet portion of the SAG awards, and the two continued the smack talk with eachother on an episode of Larry King Live this week, a rep for Rourke sent out an e-mail setting the record straight.
The email said that Rourke “will not be participating in Wrestlemania. He is focusing entirely on his acting career.”
Rourke’s movie is up for Best picture at the Oscars this February, and has already scored a win this year at the Golden Globes.
It all could be a coverup though, with the Oscar race super tight, Rourke might possibly think it’ll look better to the voters if he sounds dedicated to his acting career. When the Oscar dust settles, and the movie comes out with or without an award, Rourke may make a “surprise” ram jam at the big event. We shall see.
