Despite protests from the conservative Muslims in the nation who were voicing concern over Rihanna’s provocative stage attire, the Malaysian government has given the Umbrella singer the green light to perform there next month.
The Malaysian government’s strict rules regarding female performers require them to cover from their necks to their knees while performing, and though Rihanna had said all along she was happy to abide by the rules, there were still protests.
The country’s Unity, Arts, Culture, and Heritage minister had this to say about the concert that will take place February 13th, “Rihanna and the concert organizer have assured us that they will fulfill the conditions laid out by the ministry. If that is the case, then there is no reason why they can’t hold the concert.”
