Tori Spelling has been on set filming her scenes for upcoming episodes of 90210 this week, but The CW isn’t going to bank on that for ratings when it’s going up against television’s biggest show, American Idol.
The network has decided to make moves very soon and move 90210 up to the 9:00pm slot so that it doesn’t have to go up against FOX at 8:00 when they air American Idol.
90210 has seen a slide in the ratings in the past few weeks since Idol started airing the audition shows, but the good news is that it was leading the pack of most watched DVR shows, meaning it’s not losing viewers, just being pushed back til later because people need to watch their Idol live.
Reaper will slip into the CW’s 8:00 slot and go up against Idol, which is almost like a kiss of death anyways.
Other shows that have to square up against Idol are NCIS on CBS, Homeland Security USA on ABC, and Biggest Loser 7 on NBC.
In otherwords, no competition.
