Michaeljackson.com streamed a live press conference this morning where the king of pop announced his return to the stage with a 10 show run at London’s O2 arena.
Michael Jackson’s “This is It” will be his final performances as he told the crowd on hand, “I’ll perform the songs my fans want to hear. This is the final curtain call. I’ll see you in July,” briefly before exiting the stage.
Tickets will go on sale on March 13th, and if you expect to get any 25 minutes after they’ve went on sale good luck to you. This will sell out fast! Concert promoters AEG are even hoping to add up to 15 more dates to the run if all goes well.
In 2007 Prince did a similar 21 show run at the 02.
For all you cheapies, or those who cant afford the London vacation, it’d be real surprising if this didnt make it to DVD. Real surprising!
You have to wonder why an American legend is closing out his career in London though? Maybe the 30 million dollar paycheck has something to do with it.
