Comedy or not, when you make light of a tragedy by blaming a fellow American for it, it’s like you yourself hate America!!
Wanda Sykes was the comic relief at the White House Correspondents dinner this past weekend, and while her roast of people like President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, George Bush and Sarah Palin was all in good fun, it was her dig at radio host Rush Limbaugh that left a sour taste in some peoples mouths.
Sykes joked; “Maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker but he was so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight.”
White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs released a statement on Monday saying “I think there are a lot of topics that are better left for serious reflection rather than comedy.
“I think there’s no doubt that 9/11 is part of that.”
He also made sure it was 100% clear that she was hired by the association, and not the White House itself.
