Chastity Bono, daughter of pop star Cher and the late Sonny Bono, announced her homosexuality during a 1995 magazine interview and just recently that she is choosing to undergo the transition from female to male. The decision was made shortly after his birthday in March and Chastity has now begun the lengthy process.
Family and friends have already been referring to Chastity, now Chaz, as a man, Even Cher! “Chaz is embarking on a difficult journey, but one that I will support. I respect the courage it takes to go through this transition in the glare of public scrutiny, and although I may not understand, I will strive to be understanding. The one thing that will never change is my abiding love for my child,” she said.
