Quentin Tarantino is one of the most artsy mainstream directors out there right now (even though his movies are more confusing than a maze with no exit), but the clock is tickin’ before he pulls the plug on his directing career.
While promoting his new movie Inglorious Basterds, which hits theaters August 21, QT admitted that he’s going to call it quits by the time he’s 60.
The reason? He doesn’t want to put out (any more) crap, just for a pay day.
He tells the recent issue of GQ magazine; “Directors don’t get better, they get worse! …When you gotta go out and make a movie to pay for the kids’ private school and for the three ex-wives, don’t talk to me about your artistry. It’s their job. I don’t want to have to watch the movie I made to pay for my pool.”
Too bad 60 is till 14 years away!!
