“Uh, Judy… Would you come back here a second?”
The NY Post reports that Dolly Parton’s Broadway baby ‘9 to 5’ will close its doors around Labor Day. The production – which reportedly cost $14 million to stage – was marred by tepid reviews and lackluster box office sales.
The closure is a slap-in-the-titties for the show’s lyricist and composer, Dolly Parton, who has been involved wholeheartedly in the production since its inception. Sadly, the score and book never lived up to the original movie’s magic.
