It’s official. Paula Abdul has tweeted.
“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to Idol.”
Paula’s money-based decision comes after months of speculation. It also comes at the eleventh hour – Idol auditions were scheduled to begin in Denver on Friday.
And how bitter is Paula? Never one to miss an opportunity to dig the knife in deeper, Paula also tweeted that she made American Idol what is today:
“I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon.”
Sources close to the show say that Paula was offered a 30 percent raise – but in comparison to Seacrest and Cowell figures – it just wasn’t enough.
Fremantle Media – you know, the guys who are now screwed because they’re left with boring judge Kara DioGuardi – released this statement that Paula was:
“an important part of the ‘American Idol’ family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show.”
Where does this leave us? Hopefully with another season of “Hey Paula!”
What do you think? Will you ever watch Idol again?
