The world’s oldest person – and we’re not talking about Larry King – has passed away.
Who says Hollywood is just for the young? Ms. Baines grew up and died right here in L.A!
L.A resident Gertrude Baines died this morning at an undisclosed hospital, said her doctor, Dr. Charles Witt. Though an autopsy is pending, detectives are guessing that the cause might be old age. Just kidding – doctors actually said cause of death was probably a heart attack but there is going to be an autopsy to find out exact cause. Scientists have studied Gertrude for her longevity – and she was even the topic of an L.A. Times article last year.
She was born in 1894 in Shellman, Georgia. The oldest person is currently a 114 year-old living in Japan.
