This is so gay, but MTV is teaming up with MySpace and Facebook to combat the rising tide of online abuse the bitchy little youth of this country is subjected to with an anti-cyberbullying campaign.

The campaign, entitled “A Thin Line,” targets cyberbullying, sexually oriented text messages, online predators and other forms of digital abuse through TV programs and public service announcements that will air on the cabler and its online and mobile outlets.

This from the network that brought us the show about making celebs cry before having to endure Ashton Kutcher in person. Also, “digital abuse.” Haha.

I’m confused. Why does the word gay belong in a story about an anti-cyber bullying campaign? Replace the word “gay” with “black,” or maybe, “Jewish,” and then tell me if it still feels right.

I think it still works with “black”… but you’re right, it feels much better with “jewish”.

This is a great article! I’m so glad that someone has finally decided to discuss the issue of digital abuse. Have you guys heard about the competition where young adults and teens can create an idea of their own to help end digital abuse? The winning idea gets $10,000!
