Does Lindsay Lohan need money THIS bad??? The once upon a time actress is suing E-trade for using the name “Lindsay” in their Superbowl commercial. For 100 million dollars!
Haven’t seen it yet? Well Lohan is claiming that in the commercial, which features a boy baby apologizing to his girlfriend for not calling her the night before while he’s trading stocks on e-trade. The girl baby gets jealous and brings up “that milkoholic Lindsay.”
Get this! The actress’ lawyer is claiming that her name is just as recognizable as other one-word monikers, including Madonna and Cher, which means that e-trade had no right to use her name without her permission, because clearly they were talking about her.
Absolutely NOT! Lindsay Lohan shouldn’t even be allowed to be featured in the same blog post as Madonna and Cher, and to sue them for 100 million dollars?
Says Lindsay’s lawyer; “Many celebs are known by one name only, and E-Trade is using that knowledge to profit. They used the name Lindsay. They’re using her name as a parody of her life. Why didn’t they use the name Susan? This is a subliminal message. Everybody’s talking about it and saying it’s Lindsay Lohan.”
Are they saying she IS a milkaholic??? Does this lawyer know that Lindsay or Lindsey is a fairly common name, unlike Madonna or Cher?
A spokesperson for E-trade calls it a simple coincidence, claiming that they “just used a popular baby name that happened to be the name of someone on the account team.”
From pokemyname.com; If we compare the popularity statistics of LINDSEY to USA’s population statistics, we can estimate that as of March.09.2010 15:54 there are 38,705 people named as LINDSEY in the United States and the number of LINDSEY’s are increasing by 329 people every year.
Also, If we compare the popularity statistics of LINDSAY to USA’s population statistics, we can estimate that as of March.09.2010 15:55 there are 58,057 people named as LINDSAY in the United States and the number of LINDSAY’s are increasing by 494 people every year.
Lindsay is seeking 50 million in exemplarry damages, as well as 50 million in compensation. What she should be seeking is a new hobby, because she clearly has a bunch of spare time.
hahahaha this is sooo funnyyy.really now. why would you sue a company for saying a name? hun your not that special
I think the Drugs must have fried her brain. No way is she in the one-name league like Cher or Madonna.
What has she even done lately? What was her last movie, the Love Bug?
Case in Point, Jeff Dunham makes a joke about her in his act. He doesn’t refer to her as just “Lindsay”, he has to say “Lindsay Lohan” so everyone knows which Lindsay he’s talking about.
OMG! She is a fucking idiot!! I’m positive Lindsay isn’t a milk-aholic unless she’s nursing off her ex girlfriend…LMAO!! She needs to stop it, act right and quit being soooo pathetic! I mean I can show you 3 girls in any classroom around the world..okay the USA.. that has the name Lindsay! Lindsay honey you are just NOT this important!
The girl has a real problem, does she need money that bad? She needs to go get a job like the rest of us. Lindsay is too common of a name to sue over it……….Get off the drugs and booze girl…………….
$100,000,000 for every time your name is used in a commercial. Just your first name. What is wrong with people. If she wins this, then everyone in the country is entitled to large amounts of cash.
I heard my name used in the movie “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.” The guy named Brent was depicted as someone sexually attracted to sheep. That could make me look bad according to her lawyers. Can’t say her name, I might get sued. Should I get $100,000,000.
Also, even if they were making fun of her, what ever happened to free speech. So long as the information isn’t wrong.
Well lets be honest, first time I watched this add, without knowing the story behind it, I thought that they were talking about Lohan…
But I do think that she’s going about it like a spoilt brat asking for 100 million dollars… Although the more I think about it, if I ever had a chance to win that much cash from taking it to court, I probably would as well haha!
This is just another classic example of reputation changing the way we percieve the story…
Maybe she should’ve gone for a humble 10 million instead!
