Reggie Bush is being held partially responsible for the infractions that cost USC 30 athletic scholarships, and a two year bowl ban, so they are dumping him faster than you can say Kim Kardashian!
In a memo released today by USC President-elect to welcome the school’s new athletic director, it was also revealed:
The Trojan family honors and respects the USC sporting careers of those persons whose actions did not compromise their athletic program or the opportunities of future USC student-athletes. Accordingly, I have instructed the senior vice president for administration to remove athletic jerseys and murals displayed in recognition of O.J. Mayo and Reggie Bush by mid-August — before the incoming class of students moves on campus — from Heritage Hall, the Galen Center and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The university also will return Mr. Bush’s 2005 Heisman Trophy to the Heisman Trophy Trust in August.
To be clear, it doesn’t mean Bush is stripped of his Heisman trophy, just that USC will be sending back the one that they were given to display next to their other Heisman winners with a “thanks but no thanks” note attached.
Reggie, who’s legacy at the school could be in danger over these allegations that he was essentially paid to play his college ball there, has most recently went on to win a Superbowl trophy in the NFL to add to his hardware collection. He has still declined to comment over the entire matter.
