Since being on the cover of Rolling Stone has become completely musically meaningless, the new way to cement your status as relevant yet cool, is to say “no” to having your music covered on Glee. The newest members of this club are Gorillaz. The band didn’t even wait for the show to ask to make it clear their music is off limits to the Emmy winning show. Gorillaz singer Damon Albarn told the AP, “we wouldn’t let that happen” because, as he went on to say “it’s a very poor substitute for the real thing.” Albarn seemed pretty passionate about his disdain for the show, so we are guessing Glee shouldn’t even think about covering Blur, Albern’s former band, either. Gorillaz joins the ranks of Kings of Leon in rejecting Glee. Coldplay initially declined to have their music featured on the show as well but then eventually caved .
