Sports Illustrated has named Drew Brees the 2010 Sportsman of the Year.
The Superbowl winning QB for the New Orleans Saints beat out many athletes who had great years, and told NBC’s The Today Show:
“It’s an unbelievable honor, for everything that it stands for, and it just makes me reflect back on the last five years in New Orleans, and the teams that I’ve had the opportunity to play for. And it’s just been a special, special journey.”
Brees arrived to the NOLA in 2006 post Katrina, and has really taken the city under his wing with many charitable contributions.
We think the award should have gone to Lebron James! Why you ask? Well he has created a full time job for all of the unemployed people in Cleveland (hating) and created enough sour grapes to feed the entire city!
We kid, we kid. Drew is certainly deserving of this. Congrats!
