Since the news of a divorce between Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz was announced earlier this month, it seems like Wentz has always been the subject of blame.
Many claim that it was his decision to tour with his band, and keep making music instead of being a family man that lead Ashlee Simpson to file the papers, but a new source is claiming the opposite, explaining that it was Ashlee Simpson’s excessive partying that tore the relationship apart, causing her to eventually file the papers herself.
A source close to Wentz tells UsWeekly:
“She would lose track of time,” the insider says, adding that Wentz “started getting burnt out” by her antics. A second source tells the mag that While on tour, Wentz “would constantly check in on Ashlee, and he’d have his friends call the house and her cell to make sure she said she was where she said she was going to be. He felt like he couldn’t trust her.”
With these conflicting stories, it sounds most likely that arguments of “who is the better parent” could have easily caused this breakup, but at the same time is the type of scenario where the couple gets back together and admits to being immature with their previous decisions.
