Move over Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom, and take a seat gold diggers from ‘Basketball Wives,’ there’s a new NBA couple coming to reality television.
Carmelo Anthony and Lala Vazquez have signed on the dotted line to film a reality series for Vh1.
Anthony, who is currently at the time of press making his debut on his new team, the New York Knicks, and his wife Vazquez, who is a former MTV VJ will star in the series titled La La’s Full Court Life.
The show will center around Melo’s move to New York from Denver where he played 7 and a half seasons with the Nuggets, and La La’s new life as a married mother of one.
Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production, VH1 says: “Viewers connect with La La because despite the fairy tale wedding and NBA star husband, she is a real, down to Earth, hardworking woman who stays true to herself. The best thing about the new series is that while pursuing and realizing her dreams, La La gets to take us back to her home in New York, where her story began.”
Anthony is also a New York native, and was greeted to a standing ovation on Wednesday night to the tune of Diddy’s ‘Coming Home’ as he made his New York Knick debut. Anthony played his college ball at Syracuse where he won a national title in one season.
Expect a little less crazy than that capable of a Kardashian, but all in all it should be a hit show!
