David Arquette is still holding on to hope that he’ll be able to repair his relationship with Courteney Cox, but admits that it’s ultimately up to her.
Arquette opened up to Oprah Winfrey on Thursday, in an appearance originally scheduled for Michael Vick, telling the host, “I want her to be happy. If me being the best person I can be doesn’t make her happy in a partner, in who she needs, whatever she’s looking for, that’s still to be answered.”
Arquette and Cox split up last fall, which sent him on a multi-month party train with a final destination of rehab. The actor claims Cox has been very supportive throughout the whole thing, and though he’s not sure it’s possible, he’d love to repair their relationship.
So what is post rehab life like for David Arquette? He’s been living alone in a Los Angeles home, doing yoga, attending therapy sessions, helping create a clothing line, and seeing his daughter, Coco, a few times per week. Arquette tells Winfrey, “I’m being responsible. I’m finally authentic.”
As for the chances he and Cox can work it out, “We truly love each other with all our hearts,” he said. Whether it’s as friends or as husband and wife, “I know that I’ll be with her my whole life” Arquette explains.
Hopefully they do!
