Rosie O’donnell is apologizing for some comments she made about Glee actress Ashley Fink, claiming that they were taken out of context.
Fink plays the plus-sized bad ass Lauren on the hit FOX series, and her character’s romance with Mark Salling’s ‘Puck’ on the show is what set Rosie off, telling Access Hollywood that the relationship is ‘implausable.’
“It really, really strikes a chord with every overweight woman I know. Every woman I know who’s heavy has strong feelings about that storyline. They’re like, ‘Can you believe that? I think that’s horrible. That never happens in school. That character is so unlikable. Why didn’t they get a pretty heavy girl?'”
O’donnell’s comments weren’t hard to understand, it’s the “why didn’t they get a pretty heavy girl” that makes it controversial. Then again, if regular people have the right to say who is hot and who is not on television, why shouldn’t Rosie O’donnell?
Rosie took to her Twitter page to clear up the drama, writing:
“Oh Ashley – I love your swagger – your acting – your face – your heart – as a famous fat person – I am often asked about the issue…
“I love the story line – I love the show – and if in any way something I said hurt u – I apologize MORE. You are so talented and I can’t wait to hear you belt it … as I know you can – the often misquoted Rosie.”
Calls to reps for Fink were not returned.
