Christina Aguilera confirmed in a statement today that she’s signed on to be a coach in the new NBC singing competition show, ‘The Voice.’
Aguilera, who was arrested and thrown in the drunk tank on Tuesday for being too intoxicated when her boyfriend Matthew Rutler was pulled over for DUI was released early Tuesday morning without charges, and went right to work in getting her life back on the right track apparently.
The show is set to air this year, and Aguilera will be joining both Adam Levine from Maroon 5, and ‘Forget You’ singer Cee-Lo Green, who have already signed on as coaches on the show.
In a statement released Wednesday, Aguilera explains:
“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice.”
It sounds like a great job for Christina Aguilera, as long as she can keep it together and stay out of trouble!
Though FOX is currently dominating with their fresh faced American Idol, and will continue to do so when Simon Cowell brings The X Factor back to the same network, do you guys think NBC can contend with ‘The Voice?’
