For more than twenty years, Nickelodeon has been switching gears around 9PM to bring you Nick at Nite, a time to enjoy sitcoms from past decades, even leading them to launch TV Land, a full time network of shows of earlier years.
Now it’s time for phase two. Due to the huge following on social networking sites such as Facebook, Nickelodeon is going to be bringing back some of their original hit classics from the 1990’s each and every night of the week.
Every night at 9PM, Teen Nick will transform into “The 90’s are All That,” which will consist of five hours of Nick’s 90’s programming.
The first shows to join the lineup will be ‘Clarissa Explains it All,’ ‘The Adventures of Pete & Pete,’ ‘Rugrats,’ ‘All That,’ and ‘Keenan and Kel.’
Keith Dawkins, senior VP and general manager of TeenNick, told Entertainment Weekly, “At the time, we were completely devoted to that audience ages 9, 10, and 11. It was ground-breaking and for the young viewers, a powerful and pivotal time in their lives. Those kids who are now 22, 23 and 24 want to bring that back.”
Hopefully the success proves itself and ‘The 90’s are All That’ is able to bring in more shows eventually, including some other notable faves including, ‘Salute Your Shorts,’ ‘Wild & Krazy Kids,’ and ‘Hey Dude.’
What other 90’s shows would you like to see Teen Nick air?
‘Double Dare,’ ‘What Would You Do?’
Bring back As Told by Ginger! and Ahhh! Real Monsters! And Hey Arnold!
Are You Afraid of the Dark would be amazing. It caused many sleepless nights.
