Most of your brackets are probably lining the cat’s litter box right now, because the 2011 Final Four is something nobody ever saw coming!
For the first time in tournament history, there will be no number one or number two teams in the final four, which will take place next Saturday in Houston.
The Kentucky Wildcats(4) will take on the UConn Huskies(3), while the VCU Rams(11) will take on the Baylor Bulldogs( 8) who I’d like to add lost to the last place Youngstown State Penguins in the regular season.
Nobody saw this coming, in fact, only two people of an estimated 5.9 million entries on ESPN’s bracket challenge correctly picked the final four, as most people went with the safe picks, including Ohio State, North Carolina, Duke, Pittsburgh, and Kansas.
Tickets for the final four are going for around $200 on ticket site Stub Hub, as many fans from those projected teams who bought tickets assuming their teams were a shoe in no longer have any business traveling to Houston.
Butler hopes to make a return trip to the National Title game where they lost just last season, but If you’re going to make a safe bet, we suggest going with UConn and Kemba Walker.
Then again, this season no bet is safe…
