Rap mogul Jay-Z, who is also a partial owner of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets, may be in some hot water with the league after they finish up an investigation regarding him partying with collegiate athletes following an NCAA Basketball Tournament game in New Jersey.
According to the source, Jay-Z was on hand at the Prudential Center, home of the Nets, for the NCAA Tournament game between the Kentucky Wildcats and North Carolina Tarheels. When Kentucky beat the second ranked ‘Heels’ and were celebrating the upset in the locker room, they were joined by the rapper, who reportedly helped them celebrate the win.
League officials are now looking into the matter, as NBA rules forbid team personnel from having contact with players who are not yet eligible to be recruited.
If they rule that he broke a rule, he could face a fine of thousands of dollars.
