Though no official announcement has been made, as Paula Abdul is currently in contract negotiations with FOX to judge on Simon Cowell’s new US version of ‘The X Factor,’ Simon Cowell has confirmed that she was his target the whole time.
Many names have circled the rumor mill, including Jessica Simpson, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, and many more, but Cowell tells ‘Deadline,’ “I’ve always wanted Paula. Always been very vocal about that. I missed her the second she left [American Idol]. Always loved working with her even though she can be a pain. . .I don’t know what it is about her, but I’ve always clicked with her. You just have to get that chemistry, and she’s right. I’ve never found anyone better than her.”
Cowell will be joined by the already confirmed Antonio ‘LA’ Reid at the judges table, with the rumored fourth judge being Cheryl Cole, who was a host on the UK version of the show.
Simon and Paula back together again, on what appears is going to be a steroid jacked version of Idol on the same network? Perfect, and just shows the power of Simon Cowell.
