Sorry Billy Ray Cyrus, but you have to again be our “face” of the Parents Television Counsel.
The PTC is really mad with Rihanna for her new music video for ‘Man Down,’ in which she shoots and kills the man who attempts to rape her.
The video premiered this week on BET, and shows the singer shoot a man outside of a railway station, and then shows a series of flashback images then show her grappling with him outside a nightclub as he tries to attack her.
The PTC is blasting Rihanna saying that the video promotes murder to young girls, in a statement to TMZ.
A rep for the counsel adds, “If Chris Brown shot a woman in his new video and BET premiered it, the world would stop. Rihanna should not get a pass.”
This isn’t the first time the PTC has gone after Rihanna, just 10 days ago they lashed out at her performance with Britney Spears at the AMA’s calling it a “profanity laced sex show.”
Rihanna took to her official Twitter page to to address the issue, saying the real message was to urge her young fans to stay safe and beware of predatory men.
Do you have a problem with Rihanna’s new video?
