The Parents Television Council seems to have dropped their beef with Rihanna’s music video and shifted their concern to network television.
Specifically, ‘The Playboy Club,’ which is set to air this September on an NBC affiliate network, and the PTC is urging NBC to pull it from the lineup, claiming it “glorifies, and glamorizes pornographic industry.”
PTC President Timothy F. Winter said in a statement: “Putting a veneer of sophistication on an industry that exploits women and destroys families is not laudable, it is disgraceful. Whatever positive spin you may wish to put on the series, it is undeniably a betrayal of the trust you have built over the years with America’s families — the owners of the broadcast airwaves that you will be using to force this content into the living rooms
of every family in your community.”
The show is set to air at 10:00 PM, when many other shows with content less suitable for children are on. Could they be wasting their time yet again?
