Oprah Winfrey is getting an Oscar, even if she’s doing it the cheap way.
Winfrey was nominated for her performance in the 1985 film, ‘The Color Purple,’ but did not come out a winner.
That changes now. On November 12 at the annual Governor’s dinner, Winfrey will be honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
The award will recognize her various philanthropic efforts that have shined a positive light on the industry.
Some of Oprah’s biggest charities include Oprah’s Angel Network, the Oprah Winfrey Foundation and the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. She also has made countless private donations she’s made to individuals throughout the 25-year run of her talk show.
Congrats, Oprah! You bought an Oscar!
