A rep for MTV is responding to the claims made by Abercrombie & Fitch that they have offered a sum of cash to the cast of Jersey Shore to not wear their product.
“It’s a clever PR stunt and we’d love to work with them on other ways they can leverage Jersey Shore to reach the largest youth audience on television.”
Slam! As previously reported, no such offer has apparently been made to the cast from the clothing brand, which sells shirts called the ‘Fitchuation’ and that read “GTL.” Both clearly marketing off of the success of the show’s trends.
To add insult to injury, A&F stock has fell 10% since the claims were made.
PR stunt gone sour!
