After 28 years of “Live,” we bid farewell to Regis Philbin!
Regis appeared on his final show this morning, alongside co-host Kelly Ripa, and a sleu of celebrity guests in attendance, including : Diane Sawyer, Donald Trump, Tony Danza as well as Philbin’s wife, Joy, and his daughters.
Oh, and Kathy Lee Gifford, with whom he co-hosted the show for fifteen years before Kelly!
The final episode featured reminiscences from his family, and the marching band from his alma mater, Notre Dame, spelling out his name in tribute.
Philbin will be heading out on a book tour shortly, to promote his memoir, ‘How I Got This Way.’
His co-host, Kelly Ripa, will continue the show with a list of guest hosts, including Jerry Seinfeld, who will be hosting next Monday.
