Demi Lovato has gotten herself back on track in the past year, and she’s sharing all in the new issue of Seventeen Magazine.
A year after a rehab stay and rumors about eating disorders, drug use, cutting, and everything else caused her to leave her Disney Channel show to get better, she has done just that.
As for the problems she faced a year ago, Lovato admits that she did make some bad choices. She explains, “I’m not gonna lie. I was self-medicating. I was doing things like drinking and using [drugs], like a lot of teens do to numb their pain.”
As for where she’s at today, she adds, “I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I don’t throw up after my meals, I don’t starve myself. There’s nothing that I do that I feel ashamed of.”
Lovato has dedicated a lot of her time to helping teens in trouble since getting better. Even calling out Disney last month about an eating disorder joke on one of their shows, “Shake It Up,” saying that an eating disorder is nothing to joke about. Disney quickly responded and pulled the episode from their listings.
Lovato’s issue of Seventeen Magazine hits shelves on January 10th.
