Actor Rob Lowe is scooping the biggest sports journalists by breaking the story that NFL quarterback Peyton Manning will announce his retirement today.
Lowe sent out the following series of Tweets on Wednesday afternoon:
“Hearing my fave, #18 Peyton Manning will not return to #NFL. Wow. #Colts,”
After heading backlash from Colts fans, Lowe added, “#Colts fans, let’s hope my info is wrong. Don’t like being wrong, but this time… I’m hoping #NFL #Manning”
Lowe is a Colts fan.
So far no word from team Manning on retirement or his future plans.
