Nicole Scherzinger was another casualty of ‘The X Factor’ this season along with Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones, and she’s finally speaking out about the firing.
Scherzinger told “Access Hollywood” “What happened? Well, all I know is that I gave 110 per cent to that show. I don’t know. I know everybody’s talking about it. They’re saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you can’t say is that I didn’t give it my all…
“I had a wonderful experience on the show. I loved being a part of my X Factor family. Nothing could obviously prepare me for everything I had to go through, all the emotions and stuff, but I have no regrets. I’ve always believed in never looking back and just moving forward and I’ve got an amazing year to look forward to.”
Ratings for the first season were good, but came in under what they had originally hoped for. Criticisms were simply of Jones’ hosting style, and the judging style of Abdul and Scherzinger, whom were at times too soft. That was that. All three eliminated and sent home as if they were a contestant.
As for Simon Cowell’s part in all of this? He either had no hand in the firings, or is playing it so cool. He recently told “Extra” of Scherzinger, “I would’ve liked to have kept her. She was very gracious and I said that to her. She understands it’s business; it’s never personal.”
