Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax came through huge at the box office this weekend, shattering the 2012 record by bringing in 70 million during it’s opening weekend.
The film, which features voices of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Ed Helms and Danny DeVito, earned the biggest debut of the year so far, beating previous leader, ‘The Vow,’ which brought in $41.2 million in February.
Hilarious comedy “Project X” took second place on the new box office chart with a $20.8 million opening weekend. “Act of Valor,” featuring real U.S. Navy Seals, slipped from first to third place with a $13.7 million take in its second week on release.
