Comedic actor Ashton Kutcher was on hand at the American Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday to present an award to Miranda Lambert for Female Vocalist of the Year, but did his schtick take it too far?
According to some country artists, just looking for a little recognition outside of their bubble, Yes!
Kutcher presented the award dressed in a red blazer and a cowboy hat, even singing a few notes of George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart” before presenting the award.
Lambert took to her Twitter page after watching the show back to say, “Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I’m kinda wondering?”
Singer Justin Moore also chimed in on Twitter, saying, “Seen Ashton kutcher at the acms tonight. What a douche! I don’t care for people making a mockery of the way country artists dress.”
Kutcher insists he did no such thing, and took to his own Twitter page to reach out to Lambert directly. He said, “Miranda_Lambert I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you’ve ever met. Wasn’t making fun at all. btw congratulations again.”
