Russell Brand is opening up about his current state of feelings for his soon-to-be ex wife Katy Perry, insisting that there’s nothing but love despite the split.
Brand and Perry announced a split at the end of last year after a 2010 wedding, and the divorce is supposed to be finalized this coming July.
The actor appeared on an upcoming episode of Ellen, where he told the talk show host he had a great time during their marriage.
Brand explains, “I still love her as a human being, but, sometimes when you’re in a relationship, I suppose it doesn’t work out.
“That doesn’t mean I regret it or anything. I was very happy to be married with her. She’s such a beautiful human being and I just have only love and positivity for her… That is still a person I still consider to be beautiful and I have nothing but positivity for her.”
The segment with Ellen DeGeneres will air on Thursday.
Brand is set to host the MTV Movie Awards in June for the third time.
