It’s the summer showdown that you’ve been waiting for. ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ will be released at midnight tonight, and film fanatics are anxiously awaiting to see if it surpasses the earnings of ‘The Avengers’ during it’s opening weekend.
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ has already generated $25 million in pre-sales for the film’s premiere, and weekend estimates have the film bringing in somewhere around $198 million dollars.
That’s a few bucks short of ‘The Avengers’ $207.4 million, but the Marvel film had 3D ticket sales factored in, something ‘The Dark Knight’ does not. Look for the film to break IMAX records though.
However, an exec from Warner Bros has revealed some super high hopes, insisting:
“All the major circuits have asked for more frequent pickups from their Brink’s Truck drivers to deposit the record amount of cash they are anticipating.”
