Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have been competing for much of their lives together, growing up as children on the Mickey Mouse Club, to kicking off their singing careers around the same time, and now squaring off in prime time on rival singing competition shows.
Aguilera will kick off season 3 of ‘The Voice’ on NBC this coming September, while Spears is set to make her debut as a judge on FOX’s ‘The X-Factor’ around the same time.
During a press conference at the Malibu home of producer Mark Brunett this past weekend, Aguilera was asked about Spears’ new role on the show this year to which she had a light praise for her rival.
“I came up with Britney, we were very close. Our paths have always crossed. They’ll continue to cross. I welcome her to this family of fun and entertainment and finding new talent. Britney’s a pro. She’s going to give great advice!”
‘The Voice’ has emerged as one of the top singing competitions on TV currently, after two successful seasons, and ‘The X-Factor’ is hoping to rejoin the ranks of the competition elite after re-modeling the judges panel with the addition of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.
