The Internet is a buzz with news that the studio has decided to drop Kristen Stewart from the ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ franchise, shifting the focus to Chris Hemsworth’s character only for the sequel, however could this not be the case…yet?
The Hollywood Reporter posted a story online in which it was claimed that the franchise would be moving forward with a sequel, but (without saying so) due to Kristen Stewart’s affair with director Rupert Sanders, they would be shifting the film’s plot to center around Hemsworth’s character, with no “Snow White” in the film at all. They claimed; “Universal has decided to shelf its planned Snow White and the Huntsman sequel and is instead focusing on a solo Huntsman movie starring Chris Hemsworth.”
A spokesperson for Universal has now reported to Us Weekly, “We are exploring options to continue the franchise and no decisions have been made.”
Rupert Sanders has yet to confirm that he’d be back to direct the sequel as well, but we have a feeling it will be one or the other, or neither.
