Nominees for the 17th annual BET hip hop awards were announced on Wednesday, and Kanye West lead the pack with 17 nominations.
West is up for Producer of the Year, Director of the year, Hustler of the Year, and Lyricist of the Year, all of which he will be facing up against his partner in crime on ‘Watch The Throne,’ Jay-Z.
West and Jay will also be up for ‘Track of the Year,’ and Kanye himself is up for two nominations in the ‘Best live Performer’ category. One solo, and one with Jay-Z.
Other multiple nominees for the night include 2 Chainz (13) and Drake (11).
The BET Hip Hop Awards, hosted by Mike Epps, will air on October 9.
The rapper will compete in categories including “Producer of the Year,” “Director of the Year,” “Hustler of the Year” and “Lyricist of the Year,” for which he will face competition from his “Watch the Throne” collaborator Jay-Z.
The duo’s hit song “N**gas in Paris” is up for “Track of The Year” and “Best Club Banger,” while West was nominated twice in the “Best Live Performer” category – as a solo act and also with partner Jay-Z.

The ceremony, to be hosted for the third time by comedian Mike Epps, will air on October 9.
