There are many questions surrounding American Idol. Topic of today; Who is going home tonight? The final 4 contestants performed songs from the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame songbook last night, and basically there is no question that Jason Castro should be going home.
Castro messed up and forgot the lyrics to the second song, and a Starzlife spy in the audience last night that Simon Cowell didn’t even look at the stage once during Castro’s performance of “I shot the sheriff”, covering his face in disgust before calling it “utterly atrocious.”
After a safe night from everyone else, will Castro be leaving with the suitcase Simon instructed him to pack following his second performance? Or are we in for a final 4 shocker to shake up the competition ala Chris Daughtry in season 5, who was left standing 4th, but has gone on to sell more records than the top 3 combined most likely.
Some Idol fans are calling manipulation, claiming that the powers that be are shaping up the competition in order to ensure they get the final 2 that they want. It’s technically not fixing the competition, but can have an effect on the outcome, although Syesha unexpectedly sailed through Rock N Roll week without any problems.
TMZ is reporting that the fix is in for little David Archuletta, noting how the Judges praise the ground he walks on after every song. The kid is great, but is he this great? Or does he just have what they call “a long shelf life” which will gain more revenue.
Sources are also claiming this seasons ratings are down. Well boo-hoo even with down ratings it’s still the number 1 show in the country. I bet nobody over at AI is sweating the drop this late in the season. Maybe if they stayed away from things like Neil Diamond week people would be more interested to watch.
Tonight at 9PM we will find out who gets kicked off the show. DialIdol, a vote measuring software which uses some kind of mathematic formulas and tends to be correct week in and week out is claiming that it was David Cook who raked in the most votes last night, and Jason Castro who will be leaving, putting Archie and Syesha at the 2 and 3 spots.
Check back tonight for coverage of the elimination.
